dsc09049 Secara umum, emping adalah produk olahan pangan dari bahan berpati yang digencet atau dipipihkan menjadi lempengan dengan bentuk tertentu (biasanya bulat), dikeringkan, dan digoreng renyah. Emping ini dapat ditambahkan bumbu-bumbu sesuai selera, misalnya asin, pedas, gurih, manis, ditambahkan irisan daun bawang, atau ditambah bumbu lainnya. Bahan-bahan yang biasa diolah menjadi emping adalah melinjo, singkong/ubi kayu, garut, dan jagung.
